They shouldn't! All the cotton is prepped with sumac tannin and alum as a moderant which improves the over all colourfastness of the dyes.
If you have any issues after washing please let the studio know!

The studio focuses on population control and biodiversity when harvesting plants to make dyes. This is why the studio likes to work with plants considered weeds in Nova Scotia or ones that are invasive.
03
Wild Islands Studio reuses every drop of water that goes into the producing the botanical dyed products. Even the dye is reused multiple times creating different hues of the same pallet. This allows us to use less water and reduces our impact on the enivronment.
04
At this point the studio does not take custom orders but there are plans to in the future. Stay tuned for updates about when that will be.
05
Cold wash with like colours and dry as regular cotton
06
Carefully! Hand wash and hang dry when needed. However some costume pieces are better cleaned by spot treating stains and spraying with a natural deodoriser as necessary.
